TIRED!!

What a long day! I was busy busy busy at work! I have some nerd projects tomorrow. I want to set up my PS3 to stream XM radio ..

I think that actually may be the only nerd thing I do.. that and maybe set up streaming on my ROKU..

I’m going to be pretty worthless tomorrow. People at work wanted me to show up for the midnight release of Modern Warfare 2. I was tempted, but my special edition whatever will still be there when I return on Thursday. *smiles*

I might … no I won’t never mind..

Fall Clean Up / Changes

I changed the site banner because… I can… I also combined two sites.. yaay one site. This will still mirror wordpress.com as I am too lazy to close that one yet.

I removed the twitter link on the site, I really do not tweet much if at all. Besides all I really talked about was taking a dump..

I did put a new link on the site which will post updates from my facebook, the twitter I never use, netflix, and last.fm. *shrugs* what the hell. After all that may show more recent information then what I put on here anyway.

I updated the web cam page. Oh yeah and I have taken down the book of boneheads and the chats. The chats sucked, and if anyone from the company I work for were to view the boneheads they might think I was .. a jackass.. more so I am already known for.

You will notice the “DaJams” link is password protected. That would because I have better things to do then share my music on the internet and have the music industry rape me.

I am blown away at the weather we are having here for November 8. In the 70’s? Um yeah ok whatever I am so glad I ran out to purchase a couple of coats!

I think that is about it at the moment.

Geeking it out …

At present, I have a dual monitor windows seven ultimate machine, an Ubuntu box and I am messing with this old ass Monorail I inherited from my wife’s work.

I used to own a monorail back in the day, I regretted getting rid of it but now I have another one. It can only run Windows 98 or Maybe ME at best. Why in the hell would I want to run Windows ME? I wouldn’t. I

wonder how will if at all Win 7 would run on it.. *laughs*

I guess it will settle for Windows 98. I upgrade the memory to 80 Megs. Yeah.. remember those fuckin days? I happen to give one of the neighbors at my mom’s place a box of old ass parts.

In that box of parts were some old sticks of Dimms. To my surprise they still work.

What am I going to do with this machine? I have no fucking idea. I might pitch it I might keep around for fun. I have no idea yet. The idea of three computers on my desk it quite amusing. All though I am sure the wife does not share my perspective.

Halloween!!

It’s that time of the year where the teenagers of Haddonfeild (especially girls) run for their lives as Michael Meyers walks slower then molasses catches them and shows them new ways to use a kitchen knife. Children raid strangers homes for candy, while you eat half of the candy loot you saved for the kids whom come to your door. You forget to turn on the light and you find yourself finishing off the rest of the candy.

You are not allowed to dress up at work because people have become such pussies you are now unable to celebrate the most entertaining time of the year.

CASTING NEWS: “Stone Cold” Steve Austin Guests on Chuck this makes me very happy. I always enjoyed watching Steve Austin on WWE… Condemned was good.. Nash Bridges was entertaining.. this should be good..

Remember when bands actually put out good music? I am not implying there isn’t any good bands out there… but Aerosmith sucks .. used to be good … Gun’s N Roses.. used to be great.. now .. they suck … Rolling Stones.. you get the idea… why keep going? just a thought as I scroll through tracks on my music server

Re Wire my Office: Coming Soon

For whatever reason the previous tenants of this house did an extremely shitty job wiring the office. I have been telling myself for two years now I am going to fix that problem so it does not get bogged down by my nerdisms.

Problem is I do not know shit about how to do that. I have a buddy of mine who could help me with this project but I am hesitant to ask since he and I had a falling out a few months ago and finally spoke to me after I called him on his birthday five months after the fight.

At present I have three monitors on my desk. Two of them are for my Windows Seven box, and the other monitor is for my Linux box.

On the other side of the room is my media / storage server and my laser printer which will force the server to power off is used. That is the most annoying part of the set up.

Hmm .. what to do..

Just finished up my vacation, went back to work for one day and then I was off again. A very strange schedule indeed but whatever. I will be working the next six days straight so I am sure I will be even.

Of course I will more then likely not be leaving on time either.. fortunately I like money.

I need to look into my streaming problem.. I have been successful with getting the music to my phone now, but I think my router is what is causing the buffering issues. *shrugs* I must research that more.

I was able to successfully turn my PS3 into a streaming bad ass with the help of PlayOn from media mall. I can stream my music and my netflix through my network.

Sometimes I think it’s a curse that I am such a fuckin nerd. I am always finding things to mess with.. I just can’t leave things alone.. *laughs*

It’s Been a while …

Damn .. I didn’t think it has been that long since I have posted on here…

Time really flies..

I am considering a Blue Ray Player .. but I am waiting to see if the desire passes.. I have been pretty Anti-Blue Ray for quite sometime now ..

I did my duty this morning and posted my annual post on xanga. I remain surprised that carton of green shit is still around …

I thought about changing the layout but lost my train of though after scratching my ass… *laughs*

Been busier then a one legged man… I would complain but the money is good so I might as well take advantage of it while I can right??

I think I am ready for another vacation tho…

Media Server Project and Network project completed…

I’m finally able to do everything I have been wanting to do on my network. I have all my external hard drives going through the network on a hidden share.

I have my media server up and running. I now can access the music from my server over the internet now also thanks to Pulp Tunes.

We have been jamming to my play lists off an on at work the last couple of days. I find myself wanting to listen to my playlist through pulp tunes rather then iTunes. There is no buffering bullshit like there can be running through the network nothing.. It’s fuckin awesome!

The hard drives on the network is nice for a couple of reasons.

1. When I have to wipe my machines I don’t have to worry about accidentally erasing my external drives, or have to un plug them.

2. I don’t have to worry about setting up passwords for my friends whom come over and play on my network.

With this adapter I am using I can use the drives as a network drive on itunes. (if I really used iTunes) and I can set up an FTP to access the drives remotely.

That feature could be a pretty cool trick to have. Not to sure I want to have that “feature” available on my network though… *shrugs*

Anyway… just when I think I have peaked my nerdism I find more .. I had forgotten I had this adapter. Not sure why I never hooked it up sooner.

Anyway.. if you have a media server or you want to stream your music over the net so you can listen at work, etc. check out Pulp Tunes.

HOUSEKEEPING!!

Every time I think of that word I remember when housekeeping entered the room at the hotel while Jennifer and I were having sex. Then the lady took off out the door.. PRICELESS.. Killed the mood for a little bit, but it was worth it.

Anyway.. hopeful you noticed the site loads faster. I removed almost all the plug ins I no longer use for the site, along with plug ins which sucked.

I also removed any and all old archive pages you would no longer see on here anyway. (unless you used the search).

I also added the links to the boneheads I mentioned in the previous post.

Chats is finally up and running after.. um… two years or more?

Pictures are gone.. The web cam is gone… All due to lack of interest..

While I was cleaning out the junk on the site, I was multi tasking and cleaning out the archived documents in the “My Documents” folder on my desktop. I was amazed at the amount of shit I have retained over the years.

Crap dating back to 2000… a lot of it is now gone too.

Anyway… that was my housekeeping experience… a very lazy weekend over all.
