Black Friday Week .. Modern Warfare 2

Today is starts the count down for Black Friday. For some it is hell day, for others more out of touch with reality say this is going to be the most fun week you could ever have.

Personally I don’t have an opinion on the matter. No matter how much you prepare for the biggest shopping event of the year there is always going to be something that is fucked up. It’s just fact.

I’m ok with the whole thing, I have done this for so many years that I am not even phased. I have fired employees and had the police escort them off the property, customers explode on me because they could not grasp the concept of first come first serve, people attempting to make you think you have ruined their Christmas, to coming home with a case of beer sitting down on the couch and working your way through all twenty four cans.

It is what it is. I have psyched myself up for this I am ready, just bring it.

In a non related topic I have spent lots of free time playing Modern Warfare 2 on the PS3.. I must say it is very therapeutic to shoot someone in the face or blow up a helicopter full of assholes. Since murder is in real life is illegal this is the next best thing.

Especially when your enemies can hear you laughing at their rotting corpse over the headset. *grins*

Online games such as Modern Warfare is only worth playing on a PS3 in my opinion. Microsoft can take their red ringed charge you for online gaming death trap and suck my brown eye.

If you have not migrated to a PS3 then you must.. it is a moral imperative. I finally hooked up one of my PC’s to my home theater system. In stead of trying to mod the Wii or the PS3 to play Mame games I decided it was less time consuming and better for storage space.

Pulp tunes released a beta for their software which allows you to now shuffle your streaming music and disable downloading. I have been playing the music relentlessly since the upgrade and I have yet run into any problems.

In my opinion, Pulp Tunes is the best free web based streaming program out there.

DVD’s, TV and the end of the world…

Friday the 13th: The series is released on DVD. I think I will pass on the opportunity to add this to my DVD collection. Something about a show with the title of a movie franchise and a plot that has nothing to do with said movie franchise portrayed by actors I have never heard of.

I watched The Dark Knight with Vanessa yesterday. I enjoyed the movie as much the second time around as I did the first. It is definitely a movie I need to pick up on DVD when it comes out.

With DVD’s in mind, I need to pick up Chuck. I think it was by far my favorite show to watch last year. I do not foresee there being much programming as enjoyable as Chuck.

Sarah Connor Chronicles seems to be leading to a premise of if the world does not end soon people are just going to start offing themselves due to depression and lack of sex. I still enjoy the show.. but it’s just a perspective I have. I was thinking Norton should jump on board and like Dodge is doing with trucks, Symantec offers to give away free copies of their software to put on your computer.

I doubt Norton would be responsible for dropping bombs and nuking the human race but for how bad it fucks up your computer, it would make you have horrible nightmares and hate machines just like the characters do in the series.

The bright side of the world ending is I wouldn’t have to attend 7am meetings once a week like the one I have to attend tomorrow morning.

I have this itch again to change the layout of the site. I have an idea of what kind of font I want to use for the header, but not design. I have some things I want to remove, but nothing I am sure I want to add or not.

I am trying to find a way to steam my music over the internet in a way where I can also stream through my Treo 700p. Does anyone have any ideas? If you do, let me know.. shoot me an email using the link to the left.

Don’t disrespect the Olympics.. and stuff

Wrestler who discarded medal expelled from Games Not much into the whole Olympics thing personally.. I have watched some of the swimming and acrobatic events because it was on tv. My point is when you are competing with other athletes around the world there is a level of respect which you much uphold.

Acting like an ass in front of the world while representing your country is not only disrespectful to the games but to your country. I say fuck yes for stripping his ass and to anyone else whom just wants to be a pussy because he or she did not get her way… or something

And stuff.. some jack ass has been leaving comments about how he doesn’t like what I type .. etc. Here is the thing to remember when matching words with me. First you chose to visit this site. So today was a great day at work.. I left number one.. was number one most of the day. Told another supervisor to get the fuck out of my department and boy was their panties in a twist over that.

Here is a little hint, do not ever go into another person’s department, not knowing anything about their department and get an attitude when you don’t like what I have to say. Like don’t do that… once the attitude is copped, I will follow don’t do that with get the fuck out…. just a tiny piece of advice…

Knowing my luck I will get into trouble for getting irritated with someone messing around in my department when they shouldn’t be.

The little shit you tend to forget..

Back in the day when I worked on computers all the time, provided tech support, and basically computers were my whole world. *ahem* when I was single and would spend all day and night on the computer…

Now years later, I find from time to time there are some real simple things which I tend to forget to check. For example, my desktop has been acting like a real piece of shit and I could not figure out why. Ram tested out fine, CPU, HHD, etc.. still loaded like shit, ran like shit.. couldn’t even stream on you tube and I was getting really pissed off.

I was on the verge of purchasing a new desktop… when I happened to strike up a conversation with some co workers on the problems I was having with the computer. One of them mentioned checking the chipset drivers on the motherboard, as well Windows (to no surprise) likes to install their version of the drivers instead of the ones by the manufacturer. This can cause a computer to run like shit.. A light bulb went off in my head and I was like OF COURSE!! then I followed with, WHY DIDN’T I FUCKING THINK OF THAT!!!!!

In the old days I would have thought of that… *sighs* it’s shit like that which makes me miss being a tech again. *frowns*

Just wanted to share that with you…

I am on day 1 of my four day vacation from work. The nice part of the vacation is I actually get some alone time to do what I feel like doing. Things like playing PS2, playing on the computer, watching TV, or just playing with my balls.

Nothing against the family but with the kid out of town and the wife working two of the four days I get a vacation to myself. Sometimes those are the best kind. (thus far I have played with my balls, then later played on the computer.. not in any particular order)

I think I am going to redo the media server, it is running like shit, and frankly it is annoying the shit out me. Runs like shit.. and yes I checked the drivers and chipset.. *smiles*

I was hoping to have my truck back by now. My uncle told me it would take one to two weeks and here we are on week three or four and nothing yet. *laughs* I would be irritated with that bit of information but apparently the guy is doing “extra” stuff to make the truck run like new.

If you take into account that I am getting a four thousand dollar job done for around 1500 plus minor other things I asked to be done, I can’t really bitch.

The kid had her 10th birthday yesterday. She had her first sleep over the night before last. Instead of one little girl running around I had two. It was ok though, I just hung out in my office and managed to get some stuff done which I needed to finish up on before I went on my “mini” vacation.

Naturally she was spoiled to all hell thanks for her mother, and my mother. I am sure her grandparents will spoil her more when she gets to Texas.

Last night Ami and her friend wanted McDonalds for dinner *ick* after the girls ate, and we dumped her friend off at her house, Ami and I went to pick up dinner for wife and I.

I walk up to the bar at TGI Friday’s and I tell the bar tender, “Today is my daughters birthday, and I she needs a beer.” The bartender looks over at Ami, and starts laughing. I tell him I am here to pick up my order. When he returns he presents me my order, and gives Ami a root beer.

I figure he deserved a tip for that one. It was after all, pretty damn funny..

I have been watching the “Two Corey’s” this year with the wife. The show is kind of funny watching Haim and Feldman act like a couple of whining pussies. Reminds me why I stopped talking to a few people after high school. Seriously it is funny and pathetic at the same time. Apparently the show is going to get cancelled after this year, which is fine with me since I have other things I could instead like … think about what I said earlier… balls…

I watched the trailer to Sin City earlier… I have forgotten how much I enjoyed that movie. I think I will put it on the list of movies I need to watch… the list continues to grow as I have at least ten DVD’s I have picked up that I have yet watched…

Back to nerd world … if you use remote desktop a lot… check out Ultra VNC.. In my opinion it is one of the best remote desktop software’s out and appears to be very compatible with 2k, and XP..

Question.. why in the blue hell does itunes insist on thinking I want to install fuckin safari on my pc? It’s looks like i.e… smells like i.e. … it annoys me like i.e. please stop fucking asking me!! GOD DAMMIT JOBS!!!

Dammit!! I was going to add something but I forgot what I was going to say!! ARGH!!! edit: I remember now… it was the bit about Ami’s birthday.

Well I think that is it for now … I am going to go do something more constructive.. or destructive.. depends on how one looks at it … *laughs*

Too Fucking Early!!

So.. for whatever reason I woke up around five this morning. I would be more annoyed but I am unsure whether or not I care… because today starts the process of getting my truck fixed.

Anyone whom has been reading on here, that is a big deal for me. First off, I have not had my truck for quite sometime. Second, I love my truck so to not have it kind of .. well sucks!

So I am a little stoked about that.. Once the truck repairs are complete, I have some seat covers I am going to pick out for it, along with a new stereo which will sync up with my iPod… and then I shall go from there..

Do you remember back in 2002 when people were threatened by the fact gas could reach $5.00 a gallon? Well here we are a mere eight years later and we are almost there.. this picture was taken when a service station tried to bump up the prices from $1.80 dollars to $5.19

I remember the lines of cars trying to get to the service stations to fill up their tanks before the prices changed. This guy in the picture was getting cursed at by every passing vehicle when this gas station tried to screw the motorists.

Now days.. that is another story.

Truck News!! and .. Things my wife will love.. and not love so much…

It has been confirmed.. I am taking the bad boy to the lake on Wed, July 2nd. There a motor shall be waiting and the process to get the motor changed over shall begin.

I know once I get the truck down there, the waiting and anticipation of getting it back will just fucking kill me! I am glad though it is closer to a reality.. I am stocked… I miss the truck… it’s a nice truck too.. *smiles*

So.. today .. I decided to redo the office.. It wasn’t planned really.. I started jamming to some music and it didn’t sound very good. I started messing around with the stereo and the computer settings and for some reason it still sounded funky. Fortunately I remembered where I stored my original surround sound speakers for my PC sound card. I dug those out, took out the stereo and all the speakers. Once I removed the stereo, etc. I had to re wire some things, re hide wires.. Do some laundry.. clean up the desk a little.. and it looks probably a lot better then it has in months..

I think I need to start planning on another trip to Las Vegas.. the wife has never been.. and I want to go to Defcon! I doubt I would be able to pull it off this year.. but next year for sure! I still eye the defcon page from time to time and think.. I really need to go back.

Yesterday I had my second real sit down meeting with my manager since I had taken over the computer deparment. We started discussing things about my staff members and how they really are some of the better employee’s of the store. *thumbs up* and how the team runs well when I am not there.. *thumbs up* somehow we started talking about futures and he asked me what I wanted to do..

I didn’t have an answer for him.. I was told to think about it.. interesting.. not that I think they have me in mind for advancement cause I know better then that.. but perhaps what I want ..

It is after all a valid question..

Guns N’ Roses… Things we do not talk about … and THE TRUCK!!

I remember when I was a teenager I was all into Guns N’ Roses loved every album minus Spaghetti Incident.. (it was a piece of shit) then the band did the whole love hate relationship crap and then finally they split up taking the route similar to Roger Waters and Pink Floyd.

As most people I am sure have heard.. it has been thirteen plus years later and yet nothing from Axl, blah blah blah.. Every once in a while there is some bullshit buzz from someone about how the new album is about to come out then something happens like the band gets a case of the bleeding asshole – itus or something and it gets put off once again.

On antiquiet’s website, people are on there blasting their discontent for the amount of time taken to Axl to release Chinese Democracy.How it has taken so many years… blah blah blah… I posted the following comment.. and wanted to share with you..

“Here is my question.. has anyone been doing anything for the last thirteen years besides waiting for this album? Don’t get me wrong, I went through some of my most interesting years while Jamming to Guns N Roses, but I have found other things to do and new music to jam to.

I was excited to see them at the VMA’s as much as everyone else.. but if they release the album or don’t release the album.. he is Axl F’n Rose.. he will do it or won’t do it.. move on .. at least there is Velvet Revolver… *laughs*

Yes… *raises hand* I have heard some of the tracks .. and they are not bad..

Anyway… it was just a thought I wanted to share with the five or six of you whom read this shit… I was too lazy to post in it’s entirety on some other jackass(s) site what I really thought of the whole GNR thing…

So.. I have been going through this fight club bug lately.. been quoting the movie here and there with people I actually physically talk to on a day to day basis. I need to just sit down and watch the movie.. it will get it out of my system.. but I am not supposed to talk about it …

FINALLY… the TRUCK IS ABOUT TO GET FIXED!! I could have had this done a while back but here is the thing .. in my part of town.. getting the truck fixed would run me about … 3500 to 4k… where as if I can get it down to my uncle’s I can get the motor work done for let’s say.. 1300?? I plan on other expenses also .. but even at under 2k it is a much better investment..

I’m stocked.. I need the truck back…

How hard is it??

I have been trying to find an instant messenger program for my phone that does not suck! So here is the dilemma… I really like IM plus but I am not going to pay $30.00 for an instant messaging program..

It is not because I am cheap ass.. I don’t instant message enough through my phone.. EVER to want to pay that much money for it.. I have Mundu but it does not run in the background … which can be annoying..

I am trying to find a working copy of Verichat since it is now defunct.. but who knows how that is going to go yet..

Since I started the above entry I went with Mundu IM since apparently the new version seems to not be so annoying. It doesn’t support myspace messenger which is fine.. since myspace SUCKS!! but as long as it will run in the background I am happy… so far so good.

So… today was another day off from work… it was kind of nice.. I really didn’t do much of shit. I sat around and watched TV… cleaned the house.. put away my DVD’s (not sure how the stack on the floor was started) and .. nope .. that’s it I didn’t forget anything …

I checked out this local kc website.. it has a forum on there for people to post whatever stupid shit is on their mind. I signed up .. waited five minutes for the email to come across so I can be “activated” and now I am in the “you have to sit on your hands and wait for some jackass to approve you phase.”

Seriously .. what is with all of the security.. its stupid.. when you signed up there was the whole what numbers do you see bit, then there was a “trick question” to make sure you were from KC or some stupid shit… you have to be auto approved in an email .. and now someone has to personally bestow their blessing to allow your presence on their stupid ass forum by choose yes or not.

HOW FUCKING STUPID!! I mean I am on much more interesting boards with less ridiculous security.. I know this fucker too.. and his ex wife.. I went to school with the ex wife.. and we used to drink together .. he is a retard… I should email him and tell him all of this but I am sure there is a chance he will see this page and he can read himself what I think of his “talk” site.

The Latest WordPress Upgrade…

The latest wordpress upgrade was applied to the site, and the entire admin page is different. Not like going from XP to Vista different but none the less there are some changes..

I am sure there are reasons why WordPress was upgraded besides the “We wanted the admin page to look pretty” feature, but whatever…

I think I might change my chrisichrist.com website, not really sure what the hell I would do with it .. I am debating on whether or not I will even keep it. It never has served a purpose … *shrugs*

Does anyone ever use those stupid ass shortcut keys on their keyboards? I just noticed them … and I assigned shortcut keys to them.. but I think I might poop in my hand before I actually remember of care to even use them? I never really understood the point of these keys? This goes for the CD player keys… the home key… email key… messenger.. calculator.. or sleep key as well… the ONLY keys I ever use besides the actual key board keys is the volume control.. am I the only one??? *shrugs*

Why do people have to be such assholes??? Get over the fact that I am now what you should have been? Stop acting like you have a role in the matter..

You know one of the problems with owning a shit load of DVD’s? You become the family’s personal blockbuster. I was in the mood the other night to watch The Fast and The Furious. I had the third one but I could not seem to locate the first two. Suddenly I realized I hadn’t watched the movie in a couple of years. I called up my mother and to no surprise she had them. Her response? “I thought you gave them to me!”

I informed her I would be by to “collect” my dvd’s and I would be happy to make her copies if she wanted. I never pictured my mother to be a Fast and The Furious kind of person but hey whatever… *laughs*
